Drama. When a vindictive British playwright coerces his naive sister and estranged parents to attend the opening night of his play, past secrets unfurl and the scars of abuse resurface on all family members.

Telephone, the runner-up for Best Short Drama at the 2019 Coney Island Film Festival, is a dark and intimate portrayal of forgiveness within the context of a British family trying to cope with a dark secret.

Both the short and the feature screenplay chose not to sensationalize the actual molestation and instead explore how shame and secrecy allow the cycle of abuse to repeat from generation to generation and across institutions often entrusted to protect our children.

Produced for just under 15K, the proof of concept was filmed on an Alexa Classic with Cannon Cine Lenses.

The feature script is being packaged by Casting Director Jeremy Zimmerman (HELLBOY II, ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES, MOON).

Telephone takes its name from the children's game. The story will explore a layered theme of freedom in detachment; from our fear of death, between a daughter and her estranged father, and at a time when we can't seem to put our phones down.

The film is slated to begin production in fall 2018 in Montauk and Queens. For this production, we are going back to the Arri Alexa Classic paired with our Canon Cine Lens package.

To date, we've cast actor Mace Richards in the role of Arthur Hodges, an Allan Watts-type character who passes on a valuable life lesson on his deathbed.

A Seed & Spark crowdfunding campaign will launch at the end of September and we will match dollar for dollar.

Our second short film is an adult take on the classic children's book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. The story uses a metaphor of "life is a ride" to explore a theme of wholeness.

The movie was shot on location with a micro budget of $5000. We relied on the generosity of fellow filmmakers, volunteer cyclists, and natural light. The cycling montage was recorded using a combination of three cameras: a Sony FS7 mounted on an e-Bike and operated remotely, a Sony AR7iii on a Gimbal, and a drone.

The entire creative process from inception to screening will take just over three months, making this one of our most efficient productions to date.
